Tramp (The War Machines)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

A tramp lived in London.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

In July 1966, the tramp was riding in a taxi that dropped him off at Covent Garden. When the taxi driver demanded his fare, the tramp had only a pound note. Polly Wright gave the tramp the change so he could pay the driver.

Having paid his fare, the tramp planned to sleep in an abandoned warehouse. However, he found the warehouse was not deserted, but was being used by labourers hypnotised by WOTAN who were being used to build War Machines.

The tramp managed to evade the workers for a while, but was finally captured and killed by them.

The First Doctor saw a newspaper story about the tramp's murder at Sir Charles Summer's home the following morning. (TV: The War Machines)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The Doctor's seeing the newspaper story about the tramp's murder the following morning in The War Machines episode two is obviously a case of artistic licence. The newspaper would have been printed the night before, far too late for the story to appear and it is also unlikely the death of such an unimportant person would be reported in this way — complete with a photograph.
