Raleigh Dreaming by Elizabeth Evershed was the first story in Burning with Optimism's Flames.
Summary
Sir Walter Raleigh sits in comfortable imprisonment in the Tower of London, fallen out of favour with Queen Elizabeth the First and accused of crimes he cannot remember committing. In fact, accused of crimes he cannot imagine himself committing. All but alone, he lies dreaming of a city with a burning sky, empty of everything other than whispers, mysteries and the shade of the recently deceased Kit Marlowe. Raleigh finds himself the central player in a machination involving members of Faction Paradox. Again...
