Glass was the seventh short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips. It was written by Tara Samms. It featured the Fourth Doctor and Romana II.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

A young woman is working in her shop one day when she sees a face in the window. It is a child's face but with adult eyes and an evil smile. It seems to be looking at her. Nobody else seems to see it, and she can't bring herself to mention it. Over the next few days, she starts seeing the face in any reflective surface: windows, mirrors, drinking glasses, and even her son's eyeglasses. She takes to hiding in her bedroom with the curtains drawn. She becomes estranged from her husband and son. When she tries to talk to someone about the face, nobody believes her.

One day, the Doctor and Romana appear at her door. They insist they can help her. They go to the backyard and see that the face is present in every pane of the greenhouse. The face in one of the panes drags the Doctor into the greenhouse. Romana instructs the woman to help her by poking branches in each of the window panes. When the broken glass is unable to reform around the branches, the face disappears and the Doctor is freed. But the woman's life is changed forever by the traumatic events she experienced.
