I, Rorius was the third and final story of the audio anthology, The Lone Centurion: Volume One, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Jacqueline Rayner and featured Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams.
Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Drowning in a sea of plots and conspiracies, Rory just wants his life back. But in Ancient Rome, people don't retire, they die. And that's a bit difficult when you're immortal.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
to be added

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Hilarius succeeds Rory as emperor.
- Dalmatia is located across the sea from Rome and north of Macedonia.
- Rory performs chest compressions on Anna, seemingly bringing her back from the dead, and frees her from slavery, making her a High Priestess in service of Amelia of the Waters.
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Rory spends a lot of this story in monologue to a statue of Amy Pond he has had constructed. He considers two possibilities for why he had never heard of his own reign in the history books. Firstly, he considers that he is in an alternate timeline; secondly, that the Romans were embarrassed to have been ruled by a woman and a former gladiator, and so wiped them from history.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]

- Rory wishes he had taken an interest in Roman history like Amy did. (TV: The Pandorica Opens)
- Rory is glad to have missed the Great Fire of Rome (TV: The Romans) and the eruption of Vesuvius. (AUDIO: The Fires of Vulcan, TV: The Fires of Pompeii) Marinus also refers to the assassination of Caligula, who was unpopular.
