*Sub Zero was a Third Doctor comic story published in TV Action.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Daleks steal an atomic submarine and launch its missiles at Sydney, Australia. They plan to establish a base in the ruins, convert the survivors into Daleks, then destroy the rest of the world!

Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Daleks condition their human slaves using gold cubes applied to the forehead. Each subsidiary cube is controlled by a master cube.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • *Sub Zero is the first example of a Doctor Who story to begin with a typographical symbol — in this case, an asterisk — instead of an alphabetic or numeric character.
  • The Daleks are led by a black and gold Dalek. The same colour scheme was used for the Dalek Supreme who appeared on the television series serial Planet of the Daleks in the following year.
