The prequel to The Impossible Astronaut was the first prequel produced by the BBC for the sixth series of Doctor Who. It contained the first visible appearance of a living, breathing Silent.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the Oval Office, a telephone rings. President Richard Nixon answers. There is no response until Nixon asks "Is it you?" A girl's voice tells him to look behind him. Nixon asks how she got the number. She says "they" are everywhere and people see them every day.

Nixon insists there is nothing behind him and again asks how she got the phone number. The girl says the spacemen told her. Nixon does not know what she means. She says it is not important, but the monsters are. Nixon says emphatically, "There are no monsters in the Oval Office." The phone hangs up. He leans back in his chair as a Silent stares at his back.
