Amongst the notable things that occurred on this day were:
- 1851 - The Tenth Doctor encountered Jackson Lake, who mistakenly believed that he was the Doctor, and the Cybermen. (TV: The Next Doctor)
- 1869 - The Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler encountered Charles Dickens in Cardiff, which was under attack from the gaseous Gelth that had come through the Rift. Gwyneth sacrificed herself to trap the Gelth. (TV: The Unquiet Dead)
- 1873 - The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond saved the children populated of London from Krampus, a creature that fed on fear and sadness. (COMIC: Red Christmas)
- 1892 - The Eleventh Doctor met Clara Oswald for the second time and encountered the Great Intelligence in the form of telepathic snow. (TV: The Snowmen)

- 1985 - The Ninth Doctor was trapped near a Christmas party at Sally Sparrow's Aunt's house in Devon, when the TARDIS "burped" and jumped ahead in time 20 years. Using her Christmas essay from 2005, the Doctor wrote messages on the walls and in photographs during the party for Sally Sparrow to read and recorded a video instructing her to pilot the TARDIS back to him in 2005. Sally's future self arrived in the TARDIS, telling her to hit the TARDIS reset button to bring her to the Doctor. - 2008 - A little-known actor named Matt Smith attended a secret photo shoot. It was so secret, in fact, that the hairstylist and photographer were not informed what it was for. Later, an image of the the Doctor's TARDIS was digitally added to the photos, which were issued on 3 January 2009 to announce Smith as the eleventh actor to play the Doctor.[1]
