Publisher's summary
2197. The fighter-carrier Valiant has just crossed Pluto's orbital path. Its captain is expecting trouble from alien raiders. She is not expecting the Doctor and Evelyn.
She does not believe members of her crew when they say they can hear an ancient bell ringing. A bell that strikes terror into their hearts.
1952. The Turret Class locomotive Ivy Lee is hurtling through the night. On board, there should only be two passengers: both of them carrying documents from the War Office.
But now, there are also two unexpected visitors on the train. One is the guard with ill-fitting trousers, the other is an excessively dotty old lady.
The Doctor and Evelyn have arrived and 'Time's End' is approaching.

Notes
- This story had a preview in issue 371 of Doctor Who Magazine. It was illustrated by Martin Geraghty.
- Martha Cope (Captain Oswin) previously played the Controller in TV: Bad Wolf.
- This audio drama was recorded on 27 and 28 March 2006.
Continuity
- Like previous incarnations — but unlike the televised Sixth Doctor — the Doctor dons a costume and adopts an accent to "blend in" with his 1950s surroundings. Evelyn makes fun of the fact the train guard uniform the Doctor has acquired doesn't quite fit.
- The Doctor mentions once having a screwdriver that could unlock doors, and, having lost it, (TV: The Visitation) reminds himself that he must build another one. He later found the time to do so by PROSE: No Future.
- When the creature threatens to rip the TARDIS apart, the Doctor warns that the heart of the TARDIS is not one to be played with. (TV: Boom Town, The Parting of the Ways)
