Joseph Liebermann was a human with an unusually long life. He was given the name Joseph by a man named Ananius. Amongst Liebermann's collection of books was The Cartographia of Sardis, a book which vanished two thousand years before the Victorian era, lost so long it had been forgotten by the human race.

The Eighth Doctor met Liebermann in Salt Lake City while he used the name Isaac. The Doctor asked him to tell his story.

In the 1960s, Liebermann became an RE teacher at Coal Hill School. (PROSE: Matrix)
