Publisher's summary

Bloomsbury troublemakers Stonn and Tom Foster are back, and in much more trouble than ever before.

Sontar has turned its attention to Earth as Requisitioner Skark looks to retrieve missing soldiers. And Jenny finds Vastra preoccupied with the past, which may lead to a very dark future...

Notes

  • Vastra takes a seven-per-cent bone solution to intimidate Skark and his troops into submission, a reference to the seven-per-cent cocaine solution Sherlock Holmes takes in the novel The Sign of Four. Cocaine and other narcotic stimulants are a common downtime for Holmes when not involved in criminal cases, which would give him the intellectual stimulation he so distinctly craves - as the power of the solution and it's source continue to tempt Vastra throughout this story.
