This topic might have a better name.

A Status Update (short story): Should have the indefinite article because its full official name is Cybermen: A Status Update and we omit prefixes.

Talk about it here.

Story notes

  • In keeping with the DWU’s portrayal of gender and sexual minorities becoming an unremarkable concept in humanity’s future, the only thing Jacob notes about being "fancied" by another male student at school other than the awkward love triangle it creates due to some involvement between him and Jacob’s (female) crush. Jacob is very clearly accepting of Charlie’s sexuality, does not seem to even notice this fact as anything worth any sort of consideration, isn’t embarrassed by being crushed on by somebody of his own gender other than the fact that he has one on a friend of theirs, and indeed doesn’t even clarify if he reciprocates same-sex attraction, nor if the reverse is true for Meena’s attraction to Charlie.
