Esther visits her sister, Sarah Drummond. She sees the house boarded up and tells Sarah why she's going to stop the miracle. She asks to see [[Alice Drummond|Alice]] and [[Melony Drummond]] before she goes. Sarah refuses because of her mental condition, thinking the miracle a poison, and shuts the door. In her car, Esther phones Social Services and reports the two girls are in danger, but refuses to give her name, She drives off. A man in a black car with the strange GPS triangle icon reports ESTHER DRUMMONDS LOCATED. A voice orders him to follow Esther to lead him to Torchwood.

The team arrive in California and rents a shack to plan the assault. A women gives Rex a Dead is Dead campaign flyer. Rex phones Dr. Vera Juavez. She tells him it's a campaign run by Ellis Hartley Monroe. Gwen gets a call from Rhys and asks about her father and daughter. Rhys says they are fine and jokes about why she is in LA. As Gwen talks, the man that stalks them takes photos of her.
 
Jilly Kitzenger is now Oswald Danes' personal manager as ordred by PHICORP. She says she will do anything for him except look at his hands without remembering what they did to suzie cabina. Jilly shows Oswald Ellis's campaign flyer and tells him he should think what to do before he is upstaged by her.
 
Rex visits his dad and they both share a horrible conversation that his dad had been dying for 15 years on his own and rex never helped him rex steals some phicorp drugs and leaves.
 
Esther tells the team about phicorp LA and how to get in there and sabotage some data for phicorp and that they can only get inside by getting a voice recording of a name, palm print and a retina print from a man called nickolos frumpkin to get inside.
 
The hitman that followed the team has found out the teams plan and confronts nickolos frumpkin in his car and gets a voice recording his palm and one of his eyes. Oswald gives a remarkable performance at a dead hospital being used for the living decesed and has jilly and the broadcast members a paparatzi jilly describes it as OSWALD DANES 24/7.
 
Gwen and Jack infiltrate phicorp and switch the oridginal database system with the decoy they made before gwen is knocked unconcious by the hitman and tied up and gagged with wires.

Escape to LA (TV story)[1] was the fourth episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day.

Synopsis

Torchwood follows PhiCorp to California to continue the fight. However, they walk straight into a trap. Elsewhere, Oswald and Jilly face off against their own adversary.
