Vandalism
Could you please do something about User:Connorguy and User:DoneNothingWrong. They continuously insert false information based on speculation and they are consistently edit warring as a result. I have tried multiple times now to warn them, but they continue the tirade. The "speculation" was originally inserted by User:Cynical Classicist. --DCLM ☎ 22:38, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
- I did not originally post the information. Someone else did, and once you removed it another user added it back. I, a third user, believed that the information was valid enough to be on the page (and since then a fourth user has also contributed). This puts you at odds with several members - if you felt that the information was wrong / false you should have started a discussion on the talk page (like I suggested). However, you continued to repeatedly remove the information despite being asked to stop. Connorguy ☎ 22:43, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
- Incorrect. The only 3 users who consistently inserted it were all new members unfamiliar with a large portion of how this wiki works; that's you, DoneNothingWrong and Cynical Classicist. The only other user, who apparently don't realize this is pure speculation (and therefore not allowed), was User:NateBumber, who also simply expanded upon this. Also you apparently didn't read my comment above, which even said who the original "creator" of the content was. I'm not the one supposed to start up a discussion on whether this shouldn't be there. It's you people who need to start a discussion on whether it SHOULD be there. -DCLM ☎ 22:50, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
- I am not a new member. Unfortunately I have lost the credentials to my original account, although I haven't been interested in the show until the recent Russel T. Davies material was released - so recreated today. I am familiar with "a large portion of how this wiki works". There's a big difference between "speculation" and heavy "implication". - I wasn't going to comment, but since Danniesen has name-dropped me above, I feel obligated to add that I very strongly dispute his characterisation of Special:Diff/2865071 as "false information based on speculation". The edit had two halves: a short but serviceable summary of the story (which I was particularly happy to see, since so many of our pages lack summaries); and a "Behind the scenes" note about the connection to Boris Johnson. While Boris' name is not explicitly given in text (hence why Cynical Classicist correctly placed it in a real-world "Behind the scenes" section rather than an in-universe section like "References", where discussion of prominent off-site speculation is absolutely allowed), with how the story is written, Russell T Davies' intention is very clear, especially considering his previous comments concerning Johnson as a political figure. This has been noticed by countless commentators on Twitter, GallifreyBase, Reddit, and every other Doctor Who community the sun touches, so it would be completely negligent of our wiki to not at least mention it.
- When Danniesen reverted Classical Cynicist's edit and dismissed it as "false info" -- and then when he did the same thing another 3 times -- he removed not just the bit about Boris but also the very valuable, and by no means "false", story summary. This was done so repeatedly and so quickly that no one even noticed MystExplorer dodging in and adding the same content in the "Notes" section! I have since tried to do my part in diffusing the edit war by re-adding the summary and combining the two explanations of the Boris link, complete with a source from the RadioTimes; but I completely sympathize with the frustration of Connorguy and DoneNothingWrong in this scenario. – N8 (☎/👁️) 00:07, March 27, 2020 (UTC)
- If there was nothing wrong with the story summary, why did you remove it four times and describe the edit (in this section header) as vandalism? I think how the wiki treats speculation makes perfect sense: for an illustrative example, see The Woman (The End of Time). We do not speculate on her identity in the in-universe portion of the page, but in the real-world “behind the scenes” section, we freely discuss potential identities. – N8 (☎/👁️) 13:07, March 27, 2020 (UTC)
- Because I didn't see the summary. I only saw the speculation. Also, if speculation is allowed in BTS sections, please tell me why speculation in BTS sections have consistently been removed in the past. This is exactly like sticking out some rules that everyone must follow, then someone else comes along and go against these rules, and everyone praises that, leaving the one actually following said rules feeling immensely dumb. --DCLM ☎ 13:14, March 27, 2020 (UTC)
- As I've said, there's a difference between speculation and heavy implication. If only one user was speculating something, with no real evidence to back it up, then of course it would not be allowed. However, in this instance the wording is specific enough to be universally agreed as to who it was referencing (just look at the comments on the audio version of the story on YouTube - half the comments are about Boris Johnson) then it should be. Time War volumes
I've just moved the The Eighth Doctor: Time War volumes to their new titles, but upon checking Special:WhatLinksHere, I've... decided that maybe it's best to ask SV7 a bit of help - I'm sure they'll have more fun moving the links than I would :p So, when you have the time, could you run the bot to change:
- The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume One to The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume One
- The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Two to The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Two
- The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Three to The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Three
(and, as I said in Talk:The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Three I'm on the opinion that only volumes 1 and 2 should keep the old names as redirects; I've only kept the volume 3 as a redirect for now until we get the links done) - thought do let me know if you disagree. OncomingStorm12th (talk) 23:11, April 3, 2020 (UTC)
- Oh I didn't realise that TWS hadn't "ripple-effected" yet; usually the links change fairly quickly. Yeah, the changing on the marketing was unusual, but everyone I saw assumed they did it to match the Gallifrey: Time War releases (after all, they incorporated its logo) - and now we get all 8TW sets with the Whittaker-era logo, so that's two wins. But anyway, thanks for doing the changes (and thank SV7 as well). OncomingStorm12th (talk) 16:01, April 4, 2020 (UTC)

Meta-fictional Doctor Who
Hi there. As you're the one who originally created Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks) and formally moved it from its old title of TV series (Remembrance of the Daleks) I'd like to request that it be moved back to that original title.
The reason for this is that when I was still very new to the wiki I modified it to include all references to the Doctor existing in fiction. In doing so, I drew many speculative connections between all the sources that I can now say probably constituted a violation of policy. The Doctor in popular culture and mythology now exists to serve this purpose without speculation and in effect, the Remembrance page has been replaced by Doctor Who (N-Space) which also serves its purpose without speculation. I have already moved all the links to the most appropriate destination page.
If you could also move Category:Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks), Category:Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks) cast, Category:Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks) crew and Category:Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks) stories so that they all instead contain The Thief of Sherwood as a dab term that would be excellent. If it would be easier to just delete the categories and then change them on the individual pages please drop me a message. I'd be more than happy to do the work by hand to correct this mistake.
Thanks for your time, --Borisashton ☎ 22:12, April 14, 2020 (UTC)
- Hi again. Since posting the above request it has come to my attention that Doctor Who also appeared in COMIC: The (Final) Doctor Who History Tour. To avoid the abominable title of "Doctor Who (The (Final) Doctor Who History Tour)" renaming Doctor Who (N-Space) to have the dab term "N-Space" seems like the best option. As well as avoiding the aforementioned name, readers will also immediately realise the scope of the article, that is the programme of Doctor Who as it exists within N-Space.
- As such, the categories should be moved to Category:Doctor Who (N-Space) et cetera while the move of Doctor Who (Remembrance of the Daleks) to TV series (Remembrance of the Daleks) remains unaffected. Thanks for your help in this matter, --Borisashton ☎ 21:13, April 20, 2020 (UTC)

Annuals, non-fiction, non-DWU
While you are obviously correct in saying that Men Who Made History and its ilk should be in the category Category:Doctor Who Annual non-fiction, I think you were hasty in telling User:ToyStoryFan123 that "puzzles and features" go there. There are features in Annuals which are also fiction, though they are not narrative (The Dalek Dictionary, for example) and thus go in Category:Non-DWU features, and there are wholly narrative puzzles and games; something like this or this may not be valid due to fourth-wall-breaking and/or branching story elements, but it's hardly "non-fiction". - Vera Juarez's brother → Vera Juarez' brother
- Vera Juarez's ex-husband → Vera Juarez' ex-husband
- Kadoguchi-roshi → Kadoguchi
- Black (Vincent and the Doctor) → Henry Black
- Alex Romanov → Alexei Romanov
- Selby → Selby (A Merry Little Christmas)
- Steve (Infamy of the Zaross) → Steve Thomas
- Thannos System → Thannos system
- Barry Whittaker → Barry Whitaker
- De Winter → De Winter (Dumb Waiter)

Page rename request
If possible, Eaglemoss Publications Ltd should be renamed to "Eaglemoss Collections" when you have the time. I went through and did some digging, the actual company "Eaglemoss Publications Ltd" was dissolved in 2016, with the US Eaglemoss FAQ stating that they're owned by "Eaglemoss Capital Ltd", which was incorporated in 2015, the page can simply note the name change occurred without getting into the actual corporate shenanigans. This change will hopefully allow for less "you need to link to the particular imprint publishing the thing" issues for <removed per T:SPOIL>.– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.194.244.165 (talk).

A couple of technical things
Hi there, not sure if you're the best admin to ask about this stuff but hopefully you can point me in the right direction if not.
Can you make the "|reprint" variable in Infobox Story stop automatically linking? I'm planning to add It's Even Bigger on the Inside to the infoboxes of Doctor Who? stories and the best way I can think of doing that is by typing out: It's Even Bigger on the InsideIt's Even Bigger on the Inside. Or is there a way just to bypass it?
Also, the "|WithThanksTo" variable in wales crew needs to be expanded to "|WithThanksTo17" to account for all the thanking in The Curse of Fatal Death.
Aside from all the above, Sea Devil (Doctor Who?) needs deleting and I have continued the discussion at Talk:DG (Doctor Who?). Much thanks, --Borisashton ☎ 16:58, May 30, 2020 (UTC)

Categories
So looking at the categories for reasoning, logic, mathematics and science, I feel like they could do with some reshuffling in relation to each other. But I figured it would be best to ask you about procedure here before I did anything. Normally we wouldn't place either logic or mathematics as branches of science (my rewrite would be to group all of them as branches of reasoning, then that under reason, then that under concepts, but science also stands alone under the time space visualizer), but I wouldn't want to go in and change how the wiki handles things there haphazardly, and since you added logic to the science category I just wanted to get your take on it. I understand that they might be taken to be so similar for the purposes of this wiki that they're just grouped together, even if it's not technically correct. Hence why I'm asking. Korean Wiki Closure
So a few days ago User:DiSoRiEnTeD1 noticed "random letterings" on Rose Tyler and removed it. This was a link to the Korean Wiki that was broken, and so had appeared as just a dead hyperlink at the bottom of the page, as I pointed out at Talk:Rose Tyler, because the Korean Wiki has been closed. Since then I've kept my eye out on pages to see if this was a massive problem, and while it's not, a few pages, like Doctor Who and Clara Oswald still have dead Korean links. Most pages, including most pages you'd expect to be translated (like, for example, pages for companions or incarnations of the Doctor) do not have these links, but it seems that there are going to be some throughout the site. As a regular user I'm unable to systemically search for them to my knowledge. If an admin has the ability to mass delete links to another website, or we could get a bot to remove these dead links, that would probably be the best course of action. The Eternal Summer (Audio) Slight Problem
Hey SOTO, hope you're doing well. I finished "The Eternal Summer" and it is an absolute gem! There's one little thing I wanted some help on. In the story, Maxwell and the Doctor have a scene where Maxwell references the TV trope where a stupid character says something stupid which inspires the smart character to figure out the solution, inspired by the dumb idea. I know they make fun of this in this particular story but it's actually a pretty common Doctor Who trope. Which leads me to two questions:
1) I added this to the "Notes" section, is that appropriate? Otherwise, where should it be added because I do think it's important to mention...?
2) I was trying to remember an example off the top of my head and I remembered that scene from one of the Second Doctor stories where Jamie suggests an idea and the Doctor realizes that it was actually brilliant and says to Jamie "No Jamie, it's an idea that only you could have though of!" and Jamie goes "Aye!... Eh?" in a charming confused and not sure if he should feel insulted sort-of-way. Anyway do you remember which episode it was (it's definitely not The Underwater Menace, not referring to the scene where the Doctor runs away with Victoria when Jamie has an idea haha), I can't remember if it was "The Dominators" of "The Krotons". I'm like 99% sure it's the Dominators and that's what I added to the notes but just in case I'm wrong I thought I should run it past you first.
Also, it is mentioned that Dudley's child was aborted in one of his flashbacks (not explicitly but HEAVILY implied and it did turn out to be false in the end as a test by Jane but still it's there in some capacity). I don't feel I have the right/enough finesse to make that page (or at least I can't find it if it already exists) since it is a touchy subject, would you be able to create it instead so I can add the link on the Eternal Summer page? Short Trips anthologies
Hi, I hope you're doing well. Now this is a bit of a long shot, as it happened seven years ago, but I noticed you added some specific dates to the various Short Trips series, such as here: Special:Diff/1541669. Would you happen to have any idea where you might have sourced that from? I'm asking because, after searching the web archives of the old Big Finish website, I've come across various release dates which don't correspond to those dates. For example, you can find my citation for a date of that same release over at 16 June (releases) (the date is given on the sidebar of the sourced web page).
My guess is that maybe my date is when they are shipped out from BF directly, and yours were the dates they were released in stores? Either way, not really expecting you to remember something from that long ago, just wanted your thoughts on the matter. Thanks, Danochy ☎ 06:45, July 6, 2020 (UTC)

Hello there, I've been trying to get the Welsh Tardis Wiki more active but there's something that's getting in my way and disparaging me. Also, less important, do you know how I can change the "desktop theme" to match this Wiki's? It's so hard on the eye over there with a sharp white background. The yellow text is in place for the links but the redlinks are still red. Any chance you could take a peek at that too?
Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated. If you're too busy, I completely understand. I just feel it's a shame that we have a minority language Wiki that I'm finding hard to blossom.

Hi SOTO. I hope you are well. I was just wondering if there was a particular process for reporting a possible case of sock puppetry? I feel bad for "snitching" , but I have noticed for a third time a user who only ever edits when a particular user is blocked and their edits are very similar. I didn't say anything the first two times because the user is not a vandal and doesn't seem to have any malicious intent, but I feel I have to say something after a third occurrence. Images and Editing and Sandboxes
Hi SOTO, I hope you are doing well in this pandemic and you're not too stressed out, especially with the platform "upgrade". I had some quick questions. Firstly with regards to images, is it ok to add images to the wiki again? I haven't yet for fear of causing you a bigger headache than necessary. I have some toy images and some comic images and some other images to add to pages but I just would prefer to have your approval first. I added an image to TV: Fury from the Deep' that is a screen capture from the Bluray but the interface doesn't ask you for the licensing tag wen you upload it like before. Is this a known problem or is it just me being silly and not seeing things I should? I would also like to start editing my sandboxes since I have some new audios I will be listening to and want to add plots to their respective pages in the coming holiday weeks. Is this ok as well? Najawin helped me find my missing sandbox pages but I'm worried that something will go wrong if I try to use them since the changeover. Cheers, DoctorQuoi ☎ 06:22, 4 December 2020 (UTC)DoctorQuoi
Confidential/Declassified crew
Hi SOTO, I recently finished adding the crew to all Confidential episodes and I want to start on Declassified, but I was thinking that really they both should have a crew template like all the other Wales-era shows. I understand that you maintain the Wales crew template and was wondering if you could make a similar one for Confidential/Declassified crew?
Thank you in advance. Doc77can ☎ 16:27, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, me again, I've included a list of every credit (and variation thereof) from every CON/Greatest Moments episode with the maximum number of people credited in a single episode next to it. I hope this can make it easier for you to make a crew template for me. May I suggest calling it WalesBTS.

K9 and Company
Hiya SOTO, I've got a request for you (and SV7) - I need K9 and Company renamed to K9 and Company (TV series), as there is an in-universe source that requires the undabbed page name. I would do it myself, but there is a staggering, overwhelming amount of links leading to the page, so I was wondering if you could please fire up SV7 and change the links?
Oh, and while I'm on subject, the links leading to Dr. Who and the Daleks needs to be changed to Dr. Who and the Daleks (theatrical film), again, due to an in-universe source requiring the dab-less page (namely Dr. Who and the Daleks (Peaceful Thals Ambushed!)). This, of course, is in accordance with T:DAB#Why is it Castrovalva (TV story) and not Castrovalva (city)?.

Trans redirect
In reply to your deletion summary: ah, fair enough. I was hesitant myself upon deciding to make it a redirect rather than delete it outright, for much the reason you state — but had felt it better to retain it because there was some minor brouhaha on Twitter a little while ago, making fun of the Wiki for not having a page on the very concept of which it was (in the regrettable affairs you'll recall) once accused. I am fairly certain this was what sparked the creation of the page.
This is an explanation of my perhaps questionable choice, to be clear; not an argument against your overturning thereof. You're probably right that in the long term, the redirect may do more harm than good.
Either way, it occurs to me we should probably be looking at ways to give a bit more structure to the Transgender page, whether it be to permit the redirect or not. It is a bit weird that the BTS section has multiple subheadings but the in-universe section has none, isn't it? Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 01:57, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Probable serial spammer
There is an IP user on this wiki who keeps creating nonsensical spam pages (typically taking the form of garbled copies of existing valid maintenance pages), and then self-tagging them for deletion. Some examples of pages of that nature include Campfire, Category:Candidates for deletion, Template:Deletetemplate, Template:Stubtemplate, Category:Blocked, and Template:Blocked, amongst many others.
Another common form of vandalism from this user is to take random redlinks from Special:WantedPages, and "fill" them with either a blank page (such as with Campfire) or utter juvenile nonsense (such as with Ascension (Cybermen), and Energy being), or purely real word information with no DWU references (such as with Lamp, Washer, and Sculpture).
Occasionally these will also be self-tagged. A third common form of vandalistic behaviour is to create pages for obviously nonexistent dates, such as immense year numbers or dates with days of a month longer than the number of days actually in the month in question. Typically these will be just a haphazard mess of templates that look like a spambot could have written them (examples here are 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 and 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000), but other times these will get very explicitly vandalistic; such 56 July (people) and 99 November (releases).
Now, I must make clear here that I am not saying these are DEFINITELY all the same vandal, especially considering those last two, particularly the racial slur used in the latter of them, would be very serious accusations to make, being as they are far worse than the usual MO of simply creating nonsense pages that could even be argued to be conceivably well-intentioned yet misguided attempts at created maintenance pages they don't know already exist. However, this argument is somewhat dampened by the fact they KEEP being recreated, which is also the reason I say I BELIEVE (although do not definitively state) that these IPs are the same person. It certainly seems to go beyond reasonable coincidence, so if these aren't the same person we're highly likely dealing with a network of copycats.
What also is possibly noteworthy is that, assuming these are indeed the same person, one of the aforementioned "contentless redlink fillers" they created was on the page Ageing. Now, this may too be a coincidence, but it did very much remind me of a certain wiki called the "Oldsouls" wiki, which I honestly don't quite "get" but apparently is a wiki dedicated to the rather oddball subject of old people, and apparently is a big breeding ground for vandals, which primarily manifests itself on this particular wiki in form of misogynistic trolling directed at Jodie Whittaker.
This is just an observation and not a 100% certainty accusation (especially I as a regular user am unable to see deleted contributions so a lot of this has to be from memory), but the, shall we say, "not traditionally PC views" that has been expressed certain members of that community would seem to fit in with... a certain word used by this user. Like I said, I'm in no position to confirm this, but think it does warrant looking into.
I'm not sure how one would go about blocking a constantly fluctuating IP user, but, then again, I'm not the admin here.
Sorry for how long this message was, and thank you for your time reading this whole thing. NightmareofEden ☎ 12:22, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Our Ongoing Souncloud Issue
Since UCP still does not have support for Soundcloud, and Czech is, politely, busy, much like the change to recent changes I suggested above, there's a plugin that will add in Soundcloud support for the time being, if the admins care to look into it. They plan on disabling it as soon as UCP actually adds back support for Soundcloud, so it's only ever designed as a stop gap. Najawin ☎ 18:08, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Fandom's Community Connect 2021
Hey SOTO! I'm here to let you know that Fandom sent in some emails to users regarding this year’s virtual Community Connect. You should have received an email with an invite - if you can’t see it, these seem to be hitting a lot of people’s spam folders, so it might be in there. (If you do find it, feel free to RSVP so that they can know whether or not you’ll be able to tune in - as if you can't, we may be able to invite another awesome editor yet).
There should be more information on the email itself, but basically the Connect - which, I have to stress is virtual this year, of course - will be taking place on March 6th and 7th. There’s also a blog post with additional details here: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Brandon_Rhea/Announcing_Fandom%27s_(Virtual)_Community_Connect_2021
Hope we get to see you in there! ReverieCode <staff/> 20:09, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Invite
Hey there!
You likely have seen this already, but if you can check your email associated with your Fandom account (it may be in spam!), you'll hopefully find an invite to join us for The Monthly, a special private Fandom webinar-style event hosted by our Global Community Lead, Will ‘MisterWoodhouse’ Kavanagh. This series will cover important topics affecting the wiki platform on a monthly basis, giving you a briefing on what you need to know from Fandom, with some purely fun stuff as well.
The first edition of The Monthly is this Friday, February 26th with two opportunities to join: 9am and 4pm US Eastern. Future editions of The Monthly will be the final Friday of each month, schedule permitting.
If you have any questions, please let me know! :) --Spongebob456 talk <staff/> 22:31, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Story References in Leads
Hi, I've been digging through TARDIS Wiki's Manual of Style, plus a number of pages concerning editing style/format concerning whether or not story references should exist within page leads, but I've not found anything yet. So I was wondering if, seeing as you're an admin on the wiki, you could answer my query. I've noticed, when editing War Doctor, that a notice in the lead says that story references in the lead should be avoided - which appears to be the general format for a large number of character pages, including the Doctor's other incarnations. But there are also pages, such as Cyberman, which have a pretty huge number of story references in their leads, so I don't know if they should really be there or not. The Monthly - March 26
Hey again! Last month we announced that Fandom is doing a monthly admin get together called The Monthly to keep you up to date with the latest Fandom news. The next session will be next week, Friday, March 26.
Last month, you should have received an email about it, with the option to either opt-in or opt-out of receiving invites. If you haven't already, please do dig up the first email and select one of the following options:
- opt-in will put you on the monthly mailing list, ensuring that you'll get an invite each time. Next week's invite has been sent out!
- opt-out will take you off the mailing list.
It is known that the links will appear broken when you click on them, but your chosen preference will still be registered.
If you want to let me know which option you chose, that would be great as if you decided to opt out then I will stop messaging you about it. Many thanks! :) --Spongebob456 talk <staff/> 14:27, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
Job table and crew templates
Hello, lately I've been looking into Semantic MediaWiki and the templates Job table and Wales crew. As, judging by the edit history and talk page for Wales Crew, you seem to currently be maintaining this template, I wanted to ask you a few questions related to it.
Firstly, as noted on the page for Wales Crew, a similar template for 'classic' Who has not yet been made. I was wondering if any progress has been made on constructing this template. If not, I would quite like to make it and was wondering if that would be OK. I'm happy to actually make the template and add it to relevant pages. If so, should the relevant fields be added to Wales Crew or should a new template be made? The TV Movie's crew has been made to work with the template and so doing the same with 'classic' Who seems reasonable. However, it would make the template's name quite inaccurate.
Additionally, could similar templates for stories in other mediums such as audio, prose, comics, webcasts, home video and games be made? It seems amiss that we have such a comprehensive database for TV stories yet not any others. Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500) ☎ 18:01, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

FandomDesktop migration
Hey there! We are due to migrate this wiki very soon to FandomDesktop and I need to help get a light theme ready. Apologies for the short notice of this, there were some unforeseen circumstances.
It would be great to work with the entire admin team to get the wiki ready for FandomDesktop. Have you been using the new skin? I'm going to start some preparation tomorrow and it would be great to work with the admin team on this. We may need to:
- Adjust the theme on light theme
- Adjust templates
- Adjust CSS/JS
- and more potentially.
If you have any suggestions for how we can collaborate, please let me know. I wondered if a forum thread on Forum:Index might work? Please let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you! --Spongebob456 talk <staff/> 18:47, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Bot help
Hey, how have you been? I know you're not editing as regularly these days, and iirc your bot was not operational last time we talked, but it that still true now? If it is active, there's some stuff that I could use SV7's help with. As you've probably noticed, we've started splitting some Time Lord pages into separate incarnation pages. For this reason, there's some templates which are no longer necessary, and can be put to rest once the links are moved (taking the nuances of Name --> new Name, c --> New Name and --> something of course). These would (currently) be:
- O'Mara into First Rani
- Hound into The Monk (The Black Hole)
- Garden into The Monk (The Book of Kells)
- Champion into First Monk (there's really no need to link into that specific section anymore, as we don't go around linking to Twelfth Doctor#something via templates)
- Roger into just The Monk (after all that's just an alias)
I'd like to suggest that we also no longer need Pratt, Jacobi, Gomez (that one was never really necessary), Mckee and Dhawan, as we have Decayed Master, War Master, Missy (Deep Breath), the Lumiat and Spy Master which we can link to as we do for... well, everyone else. So, if you agree and think it's worth at least moving the links until the day where we re-split the Master, please do so as well :). Anyway, hope you're well. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 17:10, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, forgot to mention this on the above message, but I've already checked all relevant publisher summaries/credits to make sure any bot alterations will preserve the text as it should, so you wouldn't need to worry about this when moving the links via bot. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 17:14, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, the Masters are firmly tied to the Master right now. But there's nothing stopping us popularizing these (official) redirects that have come from either credits, soundtrack or merchandising. God knows using them helps writing articles on stories like Masterful (audio story).
- That said, Czech has basically given a statement on Discussions that we'll split the Master, as Multi-Masters stories make it hell for us to cover under a single page (or something of the sorts, can't remember exactly what he said, but that should happen once we get Forums back). So now it's almost more a case of when and how more than a if.
- Ah, another useful search might be to see if there are any instances of "War" Master, "Decayed" Master/"Decaying" Master and/or "Spy" Master and turn them to a version without quotation marks. Otherwise, we'd probably end up with a few links like "War" Master which wouldn't be wrong, but a bit unnecessary. In any capacity, thanks for looking into these. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 17:46, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ooh, sorry to hear you've been having trouble with accessing the bot stuff properly. I know CzechOut is not here as regularly as he used too as well, so perhaps User:Spongebob456 could help with that (or at least pass it along to other Fandom staff)? OncomingStorm12th ☎ 21:28, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right; getting rid of Jacobi and Gomez, for now, it's jumping the gun a bit.
- If I'm honest, personally, I find it a bit redundant to maintain the templates once the pages are split, as they were created specifically to ease the linkage to specific sections of a single. But as you said, this will definitely require a discussion, as it comes down to editors' usage only. Anyway, great news that SV7 is back! OncomingStorm12th ☎ 14:48, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Fandom projects
Hi! Got a couple of things:
As this wiki used to use Special:Forum, Fandom wants to make sure that old forum links and references aren't cluttering up maintenance special pages (unusedfiles, needed pages etc). Would you mind checking and letting me know asap as to whether that's an issue for this wiki? Just looking for dead links to forums in special pages, or links to images used in forums but are now dead, stuff like that. No need to attempt to cleanup yourself, I just need to know if they exist.
Secondly, did you receive an email sent last week I believe inviting you to The Downstream on September 10th? The email is titled "[The Downstream] Ask Fandom Anything, Social Media Tips, and Data Insights". I just want to confirm you received the email as we know Fandom outreach emails often land in spam.
If you could let me know about both of those things, that would be fantastic. Thanks! --Spongebob456 talk <staff/> 09:44, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Question on Current Policy regarding info from novels Re: Article Names
Hello, I was sent in your direction in hopes you might have policy information. Do you happen to know what the current wiki policy is regarding information from novelizations as it pertains to altering article names, ex. when a novel offers both a first and last name for a character where the serial they appear in gives only a last name? I have, for 7 years, been attempting to see if the article currently titled Lavel would be better titled with the full name given to her in the novelization of the serial she appears in, with no progress. I was recently told by another admin to check current policy, as they were unfamiliar with what the proper decision should be regarding such a change. Any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Pbandfluff ☎ 22:04, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Moving away from Fandom (better host)
Hi, before you click away and think I'm a spammer please just hear me out. I personally quite like Doctor Who and am disappointed that the only wiki that exists is on Fandom. I'm also a user on Miraheze which is a (free and no ads at all) and much better wiki hosting site than Fandom. All I'd like is for you to give Miraheze a chance and simply consider moving away from Fandom and transferring this wiki to Miraheze (it's really easy to do that). Please take just a few minutes to read https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Comparing_Miraheze_to_Fandom and make up your mind. Many wikis have already moved from Fandom.
Thanks for hearing me out,

Temporary forums
Heya! Hope your new year has started off well, too! Mine has begun busily, and with a ton of inclement weather. So I'm running behind this week, along with it being a holiday week.
