Room M17 at Coal Hill Academy was restricted to EverUpwardReach staff only. Opened with a special key, it appeared bigger on the inside and served as the Governors' assembly room. Dorothea Ames told Charlie Smith that he would hardly notice she was gone once she entered and that "we [the Governors] manage time in here.", implying that time within the room worked differently.
