History
On 25 October 1854, a commonly known part of the War occurred called the "Charge of the Light Brigade," in which light-cavalry were accidentally made to attack artillery and were killed outright. Agonal, disguised as an officer, actually caused this so he could feed on and enjoy the agony and death. (PROSE: Blood Harvest) The Doctor was present at the Charge of the Light Brigade. Arthur Terrall fought in the war. When asked by Jamie McCrimmon about Terrall's erratic behaviour, she said that she had heard Terrall had been wounded in the war. Mollie Dawson's uncle had been killed at the Battle of Inkerman on 5 November of that year. (TV: The Evil of the Daleks)
Nathaniel Whitlock's father also fought at Inkerman. (AUDIO: Moonflesh) In 1872, Major Thessinger told the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown that he had also fought in the same battle. In an alternate timeline, the Crimean War was fought between the British and the Sontarans instead. With the help of the Thirteenth Doctor, the Sontarans are defeated by the British Army. (TV: War of the Sontarans)

On 11 November 1913, an elderly veteran of the Crimean War stood outside the entrance to the village hall in Farringham, Herefordshire where Joan Redfern and John Smith were attending a dance. Smith gave a donation to the Veterans of the Crimea, a charity for the by then aged survivors of the war. The veteran was later vapourised by Son of Mine. Once the Tenth Doctor regained his Time Lord personality, he exacted judgement on Son of Mine and the Family of Blood for this and other senseless killings with everlasting punishments.
