An episode of The Disney Club which aired on 23 January 1994 featured a rare appearance of Sylvester McCoy playing the Seventh Doctor. The story is also perhaps the only time that the Doctor himself has appeared in a story broadcast exclusively on an ITV subsidiary.

The episode has primarily not been archived to the public, with only 45 seconds surviving online.

Synopsis

Strange things are afoot this morning's meeting of the Disney Club as Richard Orford tries to convince his co-hosts of his prowess as an inventor.[1] Dr Who lends a hand, and there's a visit from the Tomorrow people [2] plus more crazy adventures with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Bonkers. [3]

Futuristic adventurers Dr Who and the Tomorrow People drop in when Richard Orford invents a crazy time machine. [4]

Plot

The 45 seconds which survive of this episode begin mid-sequence

Richard asks if his time machine, built out of a shower, will work. The Doctor crosses his fingers, and says that he's sure it will. Richard pull the curtains aside and asks the Doctor how his time machine compares to the Doctor's. The Doctor says it seems to be vaguely the same shape outside, except his was a Police box. He also notes that his time machine was much bigger on the inside. He explains that he even had a swimming pool inside, although he took it out because the TARDIS kept flooding. Richard asks if the Doctor has been on any interesting journeys, and he responds that he recently went to the planet Thal where he ran into a group of Daleks.

Richard says he'd like to show the time machine to Paul and Jenny, and shakes the Doctor's hand. As he does, the Doctor vanishes. Paul and Jenny arrive, having just missed the Doctor.
