Claw manipulator

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The claw manipulator was a manipulator arm which was used by the Daleks as an alternative to the suction cup.

History

In one account of the genesis of the Daleks, Davros installed a multi-dextrous claw "capable of annihilating a million Thals" on his first Dalek. However, the claw was broken off when the Doctor's TARDIS collided with the Dalek. As compensation, the Fourteenth Doctor gave a plunger from the TARDIS to Castavillian to replace the claw. Discovering the modification to the casing he created, Davros decided that he liked it, (TV: Destination: Skaro [+]Loading...["Destination: Skaro (TV story)"]) leading to what would become known as the suction cup becoming the norm. During the Second Dalek War, a pair of Daleks fitted with claw manipulators used them to seize and restrain Koral, gripping her arms and practically lifting her off her feet as she struggled in vain.
