Theresa May

Theresa May was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in 2018.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

At some point in the 2010s, Theresa May became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as a member of the Tories.

On 5 May, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart read a news article about Theresa May being encouraged to pursue a "no compromise" Brexit after UKIP voters flocked to Tories in local elections. (PROSE: Lucy Wilson and the Bledoe Cadets [+]Loading...["Lucy Wilson and the Bledoe Cadets (novel)"])

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the real world in 2016, Theresa May publicly stated that she "always like[d] to see Doctor Who on Christmas night, if possible". Peter Capaldi responded to this news, saying he "hope[d] she takes on the message of kindness and tolerance and compassion to heart." In 2019, John Barrowman went to 10 Downing Street to celebrate Burns Night and learned Theresa May also watched Torchwood.[1]

May's arrival on stage to her speech at the 2018 Conservative Party Conference, during which she danced to ABBA's "Dancing Queen", was referenced in The Legend of Ruby Sunday [+]Loading...["The Legend of Ruby Sunday (TV story)"] when Susan Triad stepped before the cameras to the tune of "Roam" by the B-52s. The audio description of the episode noted the connection, calling Triad's moves "a mock Theresa May dance".

Boris Johnson succeeded Theresa May as Prime Minister of the UK in 2019, following her resignation.

Jacqueline King played Theresa May in the docudrama Theresa v Boris: How May Became PM. She was also voiced by Debra Stephenson in Newzoids.
