The 2008 Doctor Who at the Proms was the first performance of Doctor Who at the Proms.

It was broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall on BBC Radio 3 on 27 July 2008 with commentary by Sarah Walker, forming Prom 13 of the 2008 season.

A 60 minute edit of the prom was broadcast on television on BBC One & BBC HD on 1 January 2009, in addition to this a special 30 minute edition of Doctor Who Confidential, At the Proms ran on the BBC Red Button service.

This was followed by a 95 minute edit broadcast ten days later on 11 January 2009 on the BBC Red Button service. This edit was made avalible to view on the Doctor Who website for a year between 12 January 2009-14 January 2010.

During the 20 minute interval, BBC Radio 3 broadcast the documentary Twenty Minutes: Let's Do the Time Warp Again, in which science fiction writer Justina Robson explored the many meanings of Doctor Who.

The concert was released on DVD and Blu-Ray along with The Next Doctor in 2010. However, the concert is scaled down to 60 minutes on the DVD and Blu-Ray, with "Fanfare for the Common Man", "Montagues and Capulets", "The Ride of the Valkyries", "The Torino Scale", "The Planets – Jupiter" and "Song for Ten" all omitted from the DVD.
