HMS Donna

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The HMS Donna was a mercenary ship belonging to the Victis Fleet in the Dark Times. The ship served as the flagship for the Tenth Doctor and Brian the Ood during their command of the fleet.

History[[edit] | edit source]

After poisoning the Kotturuh with a necrotic virus on Andalia, the Tenth Doctor travelled to the ship and was greeted by Brian. When the fleet arrived at Mordeela, the Doctor prepared to order them to attack the planet, but the Dalek Time Squad, led by the Eighth Doctor, and Free Undead, led by the Ninth Doctor, arrived and attempted to persuade him to stop. He refused and ordered his fleet to fire, (PROSE: The Knight, The Fool and The Dead) destroying Mordeela. In the ensuing Battle of Mordeela, Brian deployed numerous ancient weapons he had installed on the flagship, but eventually all of the fleet save the flagship had been destroyed or had fled. Despite the ship's engines being damaged, the Tenth Doctor managed to ensure their escape by using the ruins of Mordeela to seal the gateway as intended creating a distraction. The Doctor connected his TARDIS to the ship's engines due to the damage they'd sustained. He and Brian stayed aboard the ship for sometime, eventually travelling to Magnox. Brian removed a crucial component to prevent the crew leaving without them whilst they explored. When the Kotturuh arrived to destroy Magnox, the Doctor and Brian returned to the ship with Wim and Peschell and took them to Islos. (AUDIO: The Minds of Magnox)

Eventually, the Doctor named the ship the HMS Donna, after his former companion Donna Noble. Brian convinced him to go to Entranxis to acquire new weapons for the ship from the Death Brokers before seeking his other selves. The Doctors' past selves arrived, seeking their tenth incarnation and to rescue Ikalla, followed by a Dalek scout ship also seeking Ikalla. The Tenth and Eighth Doctors and Brian returned to the Donna and reached the planet's orbit. There, they witnessed the Daleks destroy a coming Kotturuh ship and set Entranxis' atmosphere alight. They decided to pursue the Daleks, eventually discovering a coffin ship they'd raided. After infiltrating the Dalek saucer with the aid of Bloodsmen from the coffin ship, the Doctors returned to the Donna and used it to destroy a Dalek scout ship attacking Birinji, saving the last of the Kotturuh, Inyit. Whilst they met with Inyit and the Ninth Doctor, the crew salvaged the remains of the scout ship and helped repair the biodome. The Doctors realised the Daleks were planning to destroy Gallifrey before the rise of the Time Lords and the crew decided to help them save it.

In the Defence of Gallifrey, the Donna fought against the undying Daleks created by the Time Squad, alongside three coffin ships of the Free Undead. The ship suffered significant damage, so the Doctors decided to launch a desperate plan of colliding it with the Dalek saucer, hoping the paradox created by the destruction of three versions of the same Time Lord and TARDIS would wipe out the Daleks. They let the crew evacuate first, however their manoeuvre proved unnecessary when Inyit wiped out the undead Daleks in her final judgement, throwing the Daleks into a panic and halting their attack. The Eighth Doctor boarded the saucer and used an explosive in the engines to force it into the Time Vortex, after which his other selves abandoned the crippled Donna. The ship burnt up in the atmosphere of Gallifrey. (PROSE: All Flesh is Grass)
