James, from Wigan, was one of many Britons affected by the amnesia-causing electromagnetic fog engineered by Field Marshal Bios in February 2021, at which time he was 29. He was found "wandering aimlessly through his local park" by his partner. P.R.O.B.E. director Giles cited him among several other victims in his video diary case file on the fog. Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

James Hornby, a prominent writer on the P.R.O.B.E., made a cameo in picture and first name as one of the victims mentioned in Fog [+]Loading...["Fog (home video)"] (a short which he had not written himself). Another one of the victim, Kevin, served as a cameo by a photo of another behind-the-scenes P.R.O.B.E. crewmember, namely graphic designer Warren Lewis, but unlike "James", he had a different name and was thus not a direct in-universe version of Lewis.
