James Goss was a human archivist who grew up watching The Scorchies Show.

Goss began watching The Scorchies Show as a toddler, watching the show with his jaw agape at the characters in the show running around. (PROSE: Writer's Notes [+]Loading...["Writer's Notes (short story)"])
Working as an archivist, he found an old recording from the 1960s at the bottom of the sea, in the recently discovered wreck of an old pirate radio station. He recovered and restored the recording and later allowed it to be broadcast by BBC Audiobooks. In doing so, he inadvertently released The Hush, which had been imprisoned in said recording by the Tenth Doctor. (AUDIO: Dead Air [+]Loading...["Dead Air (audio story)"])
As an adult, Goss wrote about how The Scorchies show was still relevant in popular culture. He noted that the series itself only seemed to be concerned with having fun as opposed to other series such as Sesame Street which also strove to educate.
