Parallel Earth (Telepresence)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

A parallel Earth was one of the many worlds invaded by the Cybermen of the Cyber-Mainframe during their mission to upgrade the entire multiverse. (AUDIO: Telepresence, Master of Worlds)

Invasion of the Cyber-Mainframe[[edit] | [edit source]]

As part of their campaign to convert the entire multiverse, the Cybermen of the Cyber-Mainframe (AUDIO: Master of Worlds) invaded Earth after breaking into its universe. Although the Cybermen devastated Earth and reduced it to a desert-like world, they did not immediately cyber-convert the planet's human population; instead, the Cybermen enslaved the humans as power sources, harvesting the electricity generated by their bodies and transmitting it through the entire Cyber-Mainframe to power themselves during their multidimensional conquests. The Cybermen also excavated huge underground caverns to store thousands of human batteries at a time, and set up the Machine to monitor the planet and upgrade any detected mental avatars so as to form dimension bridges into other universes. (AUDIO: Telepresence, Code Silver) The Kate Stewart of N-Space later theorised that these humans would inevitably be converted into Cybermen. (AUDIO: Code Silver)

Connection to N-Space[[edit] | [edit source]]

On the Earth of N-Space during the 2010s, after UNIT successfully recovered Sam Bishop from the Auctioneers, (AUDIO: Game Theory) Petronella Osgood, Colonel Vikram Shindi and Captain Josh Carter used dimension bridge technology that the Cybermen had translocated into their universe to travel to this parallel Earth in the form of mental avatars. After fighting off a pack of mutated dogs, the Machine detected the trio's presence and began attempting to convert their mental avatars, starting with a gargantuan Mechanising Worm, which pursued Osgood, Shindi and Josh until they climbed to the roof of a building in the ruins of a street. Despite successfully leaping across to another building, thereby temporarily outranging the Mechanising Worm, a mutant dog was converted by the Worm and pursued the trio, until Shindi killed the upgraded dog after Osgood realised that the dimension bridge technology allowed the user to do anything they believed they could do. The Machine attempted to pursue the trio further with the Mechanising Worm, but eventually withdrew it and used a flock of cyber-converted pigeons to locate Osgood, Shindi and Josh.

After discovering the ruins of Piccadilly Circus, Osgood, Shindi and Josh were attacked by the converted pigeons, but they managed to seal themselves into a disused underground rail network. After exploring some of the tunnels, the trio found an entrance to one of the Cybermen's human battery caverns, where the Machine confronted them and used some smaller Mechanising Worms to virtually convert Osgood and Shindi and incorporate their mental avatars into the signal that the Machine used to form a dimension bridge from the parallel Earth to the Earth of N-Space. However, the Machine was unable to virtually convert Josh (AUDIO: Telepresence) due to his Auton physiology. (AUDIO: Code Silver)

Whilst the converted Osgood and Shindi linked the dimension bridge to the Fortress Island of the Earth of N-Space, the Machine activated Hive Section 49, (AUDIO: Telepresence) a force of ten Cybermen, including a Cyber-Controller and a Cyber-Commander, (AUDIO: Code Silver) who travelled across the dimension bridge (AUDIO: Telepresence) and attempted to upgrade all of N-Space, starting with its Earth. Later, after the War Master destroyed the Cybermen and stopped their invasion of N-Space, the dimension bridge connecting the parallel Earth and N-Space shut down, severing the connection between the two universes.
