Samsara was the thirteenth story in the anthology Iris: Fifteen. It was written by James Manley-Buser.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
The unnamed narrator, a boy who Iris befriended when she wandered into his village in India, accompanies her for almost thirty years until she breathes her last and is cremated. However, the next morning, she appears in a new body, hair still smouldering. Together, they reflect on regeneration in the light of Hindu philosophy before she invites him to join her and leave the village to travel the cosmos.

- Iris retires to the Indian village because she had grown disinterested with the universe and wanted to give it time by itself so she could discover it again.
- In the story, Iris regenerates from a commanding, outlandishly-garishly-dressing incarnation to one with skin the colour of a "strange coffee blend" and a locally Indian accent.
