Story notes
- David A. McIntee's character Koschei (an early identity of the Master introduced in the novel The Dark Path) appears here for the first time in a Doctor Who spin-off rather than Doctor Who proper. There had previously been plans by BBV Productions to feature Koschei (played by Anthony Ainley) as the protagonist of an audio series, but those did not come to pass due to Ainley's lack of availability. (REF: Downtime – The Lost Years of Doctor Who)

- Frey's name is a distortion of "Fred". (TV: The Ribos Operation, AUDIO: Renaissance) Frey's original biodata donor considers herself a friend of Cwej among the Superiors, and shares a common friend. (PROSE: Lungbarrow)
- The Tower has murals of events from the stories Fountain of Youth, Ring Theory, and In the Loop.
- When a Superior dies for a final time, they often leave behind an animalistic skeleton larger than their exterior humanoid body. (PROSE: Vignettes of an Uprising)
- Koschei used to pull pranks with his friend. (PROSE: Divided Loyalties) He is capable of hypnosis. (PROSE: The Dark Path)
- Praxis is a hallucinogen which affects the flow of time. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
- Paintings on the Tower's walls depict an ancient battle between Superiors and Orygen. (PROSE: The V Cwejes)
