Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The title of the audio derives from the final riddle in the Game of Rassilon from TV: The Five Doctors, which the "Unbound" Master quotes: "To lose is to win, and he who wins shall lose."
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Gallifrey is located at coordinates 10-0-11-0-0/0-2 from Galactic Zero Centre. (TV: Pyramids of Mars, Full Circle, Death in Heaven)
- The Daleks do not understand the meaning of pity. In the original timeline, Davros begs the Daleks for pity, but one says that the word itself was not registered in its casing's vocabulary banks before they kill him. (TV: Genesis of the Daleks)
- The Master says he has encountered himself before. (AUDIO: The Two Masters)
- The Master says he killed the Doctor from a distance, without gloating. (AUDIO: Shockwave)
- The Other Master quotes Rassilon's phrase "To lose it to win, and he who wins shall lose." (TV: The Five Doctors)
- The War Master's execution is similar to Davros'. (TV: Genesis of the Daleks)
- Following the restoration of the original timeline, the Daleks pursue the War Master and attack his TARDIS, leading to the Master being sent to retrieve his TARDIS from Gardezza. (AUDIO: Beneath the Viscoid)
