Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Doctor takes Peri to Buros for a shopping spree and finds the flagship branch of ODIN Megastore in place of the market. They quickly become lost in the huge shop and are assisted by Sven, a Burosian store supervisor who is embarrassed when the Doctor greets him in the traditional Burosi way and tells them of Hygge, a lifestyle brought to the planet by Director Thor. Lukas, a colleague of Sven's, dislikes the changes just like the Doctor and believes that ODIN is making its critics disappear. He too has vanished and the Doctor decides to investigate, meeting with Thor under the pretense of having designed a table.
Learning from Sven that Lukas dropped a postcard he believed to be a coded message from a friend, Ingrid, the Doctor and Peri go with him to East Ridge in the TARDIS. Peri locates Ingrid whilst the Doctor and Sven stay with the foreman, but the two of them flee and warn Peri by radio when the foreman receives a notice to apprehend the Doctor. Lukas and Ingrid are killed by lycanthropes belonging to HR, but the Doctor, Peri and Sven are able to take refuge in the TARDIS where the Doctor learns from the databanks that the lycanthropes are from the same planet as the Borusians' enemies, the Morpatha.
Bageda, a designer, receives a message purporting to be from Thor which asks her to redesign the shop in a "Scandi-Burosian fusion" instead of Hygge and organise a traditional parade. With everybody busy outside and the lycanthropes in the entrance hall distracted by replica police boxes built on Bageda's orders, the Doctor transmats the lycanthropes back to Morpatha and makes Thor confess to accepting the help of the Morpatha in return for help with an invasion. Thor is exposed thanks to the tannoy and he leaves the planet, with Sven promising the Doctor and Peri that the Burosians will make Lukas and Ingrid's sacrifice count. The Doctor and Peri leave in the TARDIS.
