The script would have seen the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe face the [[Celestial Toymaker]] and [[Hecuba]] together, playing a more deadly game than in their previous encounters. After going through several perilous ordeals, the Doctor would have decided that it would be safest to send his companions home, before going up against the two villains for one final round. This would have seen destroyed the Toymaker and Hecuba, whilst triggering the Doctor's second regeneration.{{Source}}

The Stones of Darkness was an unproduced script written by Brian Hayles, initially intended to end both Season 6 and Patrick Troughton's tenure as the Doctor. Hayles abandoned the script after his submission for Season 5, The Queen of Time, was dropped.

The script would have seen the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe face the Celestial Toymaker and Hecuba together. After going through several perilous ordeals, the Doctor would have decided to send his companions home for their own safety, before going into the game's final round. The Doctor would have destroyed the Toymaker and Hecuba whilst triggering his second regeneration in the process.[source needed]
