Smuggling Tales was the third nested story in the audio anthology, 1001 Nights, which comprised the one hundred and sixty-eighth release in Big Finish's monthly range. It was written by Catherine Harvey and featured Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa.

This story was the third of three nested stories in this anthology, taking place during part three of the anthology and nested within the framing device 1001 Nights. Part four of the anthology consisted entirely of the framing device.
