The Thirteenth Floor was to have been the fifth story of series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures. However, due to the death of Elisabeth Sladen in April 2011, only half of the series was filmed, resulting in The Man Who Never Was being the final story of the series.

This story would be focused on Clyde and Rani (Clani) spending decades trapped in an otherworldly forest (which would be accessed through the thirteenth floor of a newspaper office, where Rani had earned her work experience placement). Time would progress faster in this alien world realm, which would result in them getting together as a couple, growing older and having a child together. The story would eventually end with them being rescued after their reality gets destroyed but they would end up tragically losing their child in the process as they revert back to their younger selves and slowly start to forget their experiences in this realm. (DWMSE 32).

Phil Ford rewrote this story as a two-parter for series 2 of Wizards vs Aliens. It aired on the CBBC channel in November 2013.
