City of Spires was the one hundred and thirty-third story in Big Finish's monthly range. It was written by Simon Bovey and featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Frazer Hines as "Jamie".

It was the first part of Big Finish's season for the Sixth Doctor in 2010. In isolation, this story can be seen as the first performed Doctor Who story which featured any incarnation of the Doctor reuniting with Jamie after he had his memories of the Doctor wiped by the Time Lords in The War Games. However, as is made clear in the final story of this trilogy, Legend of the Cybermen, this was not the case; rather it is a sequel to The Mind Robber.
