There Are Worse Things Than Angels was a was an unproduced Doctor Who novel by Lawrence Miles. A synopsis was submitted for the BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures in early 1997 but was rejected by Nuala Buffini because it was "too graphic" for what was planned to be family series. The opening scene was a ritual with a frozen chicken which "like a necromantic version of the "Sledgehammer" video".
The novel would have been set in the 1970s with a British proto-UNIT paranormal investigation team based on Reagan and Carter from The Sweeney.[1][2][3]
