Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- This is not the first time that the Doctor has met Henry VIII in his personal timeline. The First Doctor once deliberately angered him as he wanted to be sent the Tower of London where the TARDIS was located. (TV: The Sensorites) Furthermore, the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa met him in 1539, three years after the events of this story from the King's perspective. (PROSE: God Send Me Well to Keep) The Tenth Doctor later mentioned having dinner with him but it is unclear if he is referring to one of these meetings or another encounter. (PROSE: Revenge of the Judoon) The Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams hid from him after Amy accidentally married him. (TV: The Power of Three)
- The Doctor would later meet Henry VIII's daughters and eventual successors Mary I (AUDIO: The Marian Conspiracy) and Elizabeth I (AUDIO: Thicker Than Water, Terror Firma; TV: The Shakespeare Code). As the Tenth Doctor married the latter, that would make Henry VIII his father-in-law. (TV: The End of Time, The Day of the Doctor)
- Peri visited 16th century England on at least two previous occasions. (AUDIO: The Kingmaker, Point of Entry)
