Day of the Intelligence was a planned novella in the Lethbridge-Stewart series. Penned by Andy Frankham-Allen, the book was set to tell the origin story of the Great Intelligence, celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.[1] Due to personal reasons, the author had to pull the book from the schedule, and Travers & Wells: Other Wars, Other Worlds served as its replacement.[2]

A summary for the then-forthcoming book was included in Night of the Intelligence:

Over ten thousand years in the future, a man called Jiva Mukta arrives on the planet Sathanasi. He seeks enlightenment and believes he will find it there. He is led to the Buddhist master, Maitri, unaware that he is being watched by a mysterious woman called Madame Slake. She knows something profound is about to happen, the birth of an intelligence that will bring pain and misery to millions. But even she does not realise the secret Maitri is hiding...
