Hallucigenia or The Evolution of Monsters was a novel pitched by Simon Bucher-Jones and (pseudonymously) Lawrence Miles to BBC Books in June 2000 for their Past Doctor Adventures or Eighth Doctor Adventures ranges. It was set during the peak of Silurian power in the Eocene era and featured the Third Doctor, although it could have alternately featured the Fifth Doctor or Eighth Doctor.[1]

Miles later revisited Silurian Earth in 2008 in The Adolescence of Time.
