Seven Keys to Doomsday (audio story)

A newly regenerated Doctor takes his young companions, Jenny and Jimmy, to the desolate world of Karn. There they must face terrifying monsters, and brave fiendish traps to locate seven crystal keys.

If they fail in their task, the Doctor's arch enemies, the Daleks, will unleash their evil upon the entire Universe!

Shortly after Jimmy and Jenny meet the Doctor, he regenerates in the TARDIS whilst en route to Karn.
The Doctor uses the sonic screwdriver.

This audio drama was recorded on 15 and 16 July 2008 at The Moat Studios.
In the original play on which the audio story is based, Trevor Martin's Doctor regenerated from Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor, by means of having Martin obscure his face under a wig and removing it as the Doctor regenerated. In this version, however, the previous Doctor is heard with the voice of Nicholas Briggs, with no resemblance to Pertwee's voice.
This story was originally released on CD. It is now available as a download, as well as to stream on Spotify.
Nicholas Briggs portrayed another Previous Doctor in AUDIO: Exile.
Trevor Martin's Doctor is pictured differently from his appearance in a stageplay, most notably - his hair is a lot shorter.

Shortly after leaving Karn, the Doctor offers to take Jimmy and Jenny to Metebelis III. Metebelis III was first mentioned by the Third Doctor in TV: Carnival of Monsters ^[+]Loading...["Carnival of Monsters (TV story)"], followed soon after by the Doctor visiting the planet in TV: The Green Death ^[+]Loading...["The Green Death (TV story)"], and again in TV: Planet of the Spiders ^[+]Loading...["Planet of the Spiders (TV story)"] prior to his regeneration.

For this reason The War Games is not included below, even though it is commonly thought of as a "regeneration story". It doesn't actually include a clear scene of regeneration, and the preponderance of stories in other media confirms that the Second Doctor did not regenerate at the end of it.
Additionally, immediate post-regeneration stories, like the 2005 Children in Need Special Born Again — and ones like Castrovalva, where the regeneration sequence was replayed — are not included.
