Sparrow & Nightingale
Sparrow & Nightingale was a shop owned by Sally Sparrow and Larry Nightingale in the 2000s.[nb 1] The store sold antiquarian books and rare DVDs. Before the two business partners took over, it was Banto's DVD store. (TV: Blink) It was located on Queen Street, London.
The store was founded in 2008. It's website - sparrownightingale.web - described it as "an independent shop based on community and care". At some point, the shop was expanded to include an in-house cafe, known as the Nook.
In March of 2017, Sally moved to America, and so Larry became the owner of the shop. It was maintained by both Larry and his wife, Natasha. Oscar Huang also worked there by 2021.
At this time, the shop was donating 20% of monthly profits to local charities. It also aimed to promote local talent with "regularly scheduled author events and film screenings". Admission was "always free". The shop also ran the Sparrow book club and Nightingale movie club.
Natasha was involved in an incident with Amy Lennox in January 2021, following which Amy was escorted from the premises.
On 18 February 2021, Oscar arrived at the shop at 9:58am to find it locked. He tried calling Natasha, but she didn't pick up. He then texted Larry. Having received no reply, he texted Larry again at 10:33am. He asked if they were "supposed to be closed" and noted that there were customers waiting outside with him. Larry texted back and told him to tell everyone "the shop's closed until further notice". Larry informed him that Natasha was missing.
A few days later, on 23 February, Larry asked Oscar to come and collect the keys for Sparrow & Nightingale. Larry said he "might be going on a trip" and was leaving Oscar in charge. Oscar promised no to let him down. (GAME: The Lonely Assassins [+]Loading...["The Lonely Assassins (video game)"])

In Angels, Abby McPhail identifies 2008 as the year of Kathy's disappearance, which suggests 2009 as the year of the Red Hatching. In Salvation, the Thirteenth Doctor recognises the Red Hatching as the cause of death of Andy Proctor, who was last seen by his daughter Cleo "nearly 20 years" before 2022 according to Recruits.
