The Founding Fathers was the third story in the 2015 The Companion Chronicles audio box set The First Doctor: Volume One.
Publisher's summary
The TARDIS lands in Leicester Square in the summer of 1762. When the Doctor, Steven and Vicki find themselves locked out of the TARDIS, only one man can possibly help them. But the American, Benjamin Franklin, has problems of his own...

- In 1762, St Paul's Cathedral is the only landmark that Steven recognises from his first visit to London 150 years later.
- Benjamin Franklin speaks of a proposal of his that was rejected, suggesting the American colonies should unite together as one country governed by a president. The Doctor says that he would be instrumental later on in forming the country.
- Steven worked as a boatman on the River Thames while stranded in 1762.
- Franklin's son William Franklin disapproved of his affair with Abigail Holt.

- This is the second part in the Steven trilogy written by Simon Guerrier that began with The War to End All Wars and concluded with The Locked Room.
