A Room With No View was the twelfth Subscriber Short Trips audio story and the first one to be original-to-audio. It was written by David Bartlett and read by Stephen Critchlow, featuring the Fifth Doctor and Peri Brown. It was released as a subscriber-only download, available to subscribers who purchased Gods and Monsters and The Burning Prince.

The Doctor and Peri land in a dark room, which turns out to be a decaying Victorian living-room. The door and windows are locked and nothing can be seen outside. They investigate and soon discover a desiccated body in an armchair by the chimney.
They wonder why nobody discovered it before and find a mysterious machine linked to the corpse. Peri is starting to feel tired and notices that some of the furnishings they have touched seem to be renewed.
Peri is exhausted and realises that she is getting older, so does the Doctor but at a slower rate. The room is feeding on their life-force through physical contact to renew itself. Peri refuses to go back safely to the TARDIS to help the Doctor figure it out, but each object he touches makes him older. The machine switches itself on and the Doctor begins to be seriously affected, suddenly as their life-force stored in the room is released, the corpse of Isaac Maxwell comes to life.
The machine turns out to be a "longevity generator", which backfired and drained Maxwell's life, resuscitating him thanks to their arrival. But the process is incomplete, and Maxwell begins to feed of Peri. The Doctor frees her and Maxwell turns against him, draining him of his life-force to the point of regeneration. A touch of the TARDIS rejuvenates Peri : greedy, Maxwell tries to do the same but it only returns him to the state of disiccated corpse they found him in, he then disintegrates. Both rejuvenated, they escape in the TARDIS as the room collapses in on itself, the Doctor explains that the generator was in fact a primitive time machine gone wrong imprisoned in a time bubble, it was the time differential between the bubble and the TARDIS still in real time that saved them.
