The Doctor's First XI was the sixteenth Subscriber Short Trips audio story. It was written by Ian Atkins and featured the Fourth Doctor and Romana I. It was released as a subscriber-only download, available to subscribers who purchased The Architects of History.

Answering a distress call, the Doctor and Romana land on a planet devastated by an orbital bombardment; they meet the surviving members of a human colony, and help out at a hospital.
