An untitled story by veteran series writer Gareth Roberts was to be included in The Target Storybook anthology.[1]
While BBC Books paid him for his story, which was fully written, Roberts released a personal statement saying that it would not be printed following complaints from fans and authors regarding his transphobic remarks on Twitter in 2017.[2] Susie Day, another author for the anthology, publicly stated:
I raised my concerns, and said if he was in, I was out. I don't share a platform with bigots.
