The House that Ur-Cjak Built was an unproduced story written by Andrew Stephenson for Season 21. A scene breakdown was commissioned on 10 June 1982, but the production team didn't take it further after they found out that they were able to use the Daleks that season.

Initially envisioned as Tegan's departure story, the script would have shown the TARDIS arrive on board a colony ship called the House, constructed by a scientist named Ur-Cjak after his planet was destroyed. The satellite would have been badly damaged, and large portions of the story would have been dedicated to the characters fixing its outer hull, life support systems and thrusters. After almost dying in the vacuum of space, Tegan would have asked the Doctor to take her home, which he would have done so offscreen.

Stephenson began writing a second draft for Season 22. This version placed Ur-Cjak as the villain of the story, a mad scientist bent on achieving immortality by way of cloning himself. He stepped down due to personal reasons.[source needed]
