According to Jewish legend, a messiah of the lineage of Kings David and Solomon was to be born in Bethlehem and united and free the tribes of Israel. One supposed messiah was Jesus of Nazareth. (PROSE: Byzantium!)

In 1967, the Egyptian government suspected that an Israeli secret weapon was responsible for carving a capital R on the face of the Great Pyramid of Giza; however, Israel denied that any such weapon was involved. (PROSE: Revolution Man)

In 2015, Tel Aviv, a central city in Israel, was one of the sites in which planes have stopped mid-air by Missy. (TV: The Magician's Apprentice)

In the 2070s, Israel had joined the Unified Earth following a global war. An Israeli news channel reported on the launch of the Heart, claiming that it was looking to be successful. According to Arnold, admitting that the mission was doomed to failure might compromise world peace, so those in power opted instead for a literal fireworks display, planning to destroy the ship in such a way that it appeared to have departed with a working hyperdrive.
