The image used in The Beasthouse [+]Loading...["The Beasthouse (short story)"] to illustrate him is not, in fact, one of Bresslaw, but an image of one of the individuals who was, in the real world, addressed by Mahatma Gandhi in 1946. Miles' reference to Bresslaw is likely in reference to Bresslaw's usage of blackface in Carry On Up the Khyber.
In the real world, Bresslaw would have been twelve years old in 1946, having been born in 1934.[1] Given Fu Manchu's son's time-travelling nature, the implication is that he has taken Bresslaw back in time.
