Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Possessed by an evil entity, Panda causes Iris Wildthyme to crash land in Mexico City where they come face-to-face with party monsters and a masked luchador known as Señor 105.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Travelling through the vortex in the Celestial Omnibus, Iris Wildthyme is irritated that her companion Panda has fallen asleep during one of her many tales. Panda suddenly jolts awake and calls out "PLACE AT THE CENTER OF THE LAKE MOON!" causing Iris to crash the bus in shock. Panda becomes wild and animalistic as if possessed, but Iris is able to bring him back round to his senses. Iris realises that she has crashed in Mexico City - which was built upon the Aztec city Tenochtitlan that she had previously visited with her former companion Jenny and faced off against Montezuma.
Upon hearing a nearby party Panda turns ravenous again and leads Iris straight to the gathering where they find several fresh human skeletons that look to have been killed mid celebration. Iris is forced to give chase when a masked stranger abducts Panda but she fails to catch up with them. She manages to track down the abductor, Señor 105, after giving his description to a local boy Rodrigo. However, Rodrigo insists that 105 is no kidnapper. Iris breaks into 105's house and locates Panda being X-rayed by 105.

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Señor 105's picture collage showcased his meetings with "presidents, local officials and colourful folk", as well as a visit to the Eiffel Tower and an encounter with Einstein in a rowboat. There was also a picture of 105 wearing pilot goggles over his mask and one where he was decked out in a western outfit. His mentors Tierra, Viento and Fuego also appeared on the collage, as did his young friend Rodrigo and El Hombre Invisible.
- Señor 105 hoped to fulfill President Gustavo's request for him to light the Olympic Cauldron. However, as a result of his investigations alongside Iris and Panda, he found himself unable to do so and therefore suggested Norma Enriqueta Basilio de Sotelo as his replacement. She would be the first woman to light the cauldron with the Olympic Flame.
- Iris mentions Venus, ancient Pangea and the planet Zwen.
- Señor 105 refers to oro, plomo, cobre, and plata; Spanish for the elements gold, lead, copper, and silver respectively.
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The title for this story is written in Spanish. Translated to English, it reads, "Iris Wildthyme and Mister 105 vs the Monsters of the Party".
- This story introduces Señor 105, who would later go on to star in Señor 105 & the Elements of Danger and The Periodic Adventures of Señor 105.
- Señor 105 does not have a mask for silver out of respect for one of his colleagues. This is a likely reference to El Santo, who was known as "El Enmascarado de Plata".
- This story is set during the 1968 Olympics. However, there are some anachronisms between the DWU and the real world:
- Señor 105 says element 105 was recently discovered and named hahnium. While element 105 was first synthesised in April 1968, the name hahnium was proposed in 1970 by a different team of scientists. Iris knowns the element will be named dubnium in 30 years; this happened in 1997.
- Señor 105 refers to recent geological findings indicating an impact causing the extinction of the dinosaurs and created the Chicxulub Crater. The real-world discovery started in the 1960s but was left unpublished until an independent discovery in 1978.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Iris Wildthyme acquires the 1968 Olympics bracelet discovered by Polly in Atlantis. Wildthyme mentions planning on visiting Atlantis at the end of the story and must have lost it there by accident. (TV: The Underwater Menace)
