Production[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 2015, TimeQuake was announced with an intended theatrical release in 2017. As with the 2009 K9 TV series, this film was planned to be made independently of the BBC. Bob Baker, the co-creator of K9 wrote the script. The film would also feature the redesigned K9 Mark 2 first seen in COMIC: Short Circuit.[1]

In 2018, it was announced that a "multi Million Dollar" K9 series was in the works in partnership with a major US/UK company. It was intended to establish the "K9 brand" before the release of a K9 film. Along with Omega, the Axons could appear.[2][3]

In 2020, the K9 anthology Megabytes was released. The stories featuring the Axons, the Mandrels and Drax were touted as prequels to TimeQuake.[4]

In 2021, Bob Baker passed away. His obituary mentioned he had recently completed scripts for a K9 film and TV series.[5] Concept art for an animated series titled K9: Omega Rises was shown at Invasion Blackpool 2023.

As of 2024, this project has not been released.
