This topic might have a better name.

Either Memory TARDIS, as it's been called that in publicity material, and it's explicitly called such in dialogue by McCoy, or Remembered TARDIS as that is also said in dialogue by Davison and Baker and used in publicity material. Perhaps "Memory TARDIS" could be a generic page for this special model of TARDIS.

Talk about it here.

In one unique iteration, the Doctor's TARDIS featured a console room composed entirely of pieces from various other TARDIS consoles. This console room, rather than having a traditional central console, was a compact space where controls were dispersed across the walls and ceiling. The Fifth Doctor speculated that this particular TARDIS was a "remembered TARDIS", a sentiment echoed by the Seventh Doctor, who referred to it as a "memory TARDIS".

History

Origins

The Sixth Doctor described the remembered TARDIS as housing the stories he and his companions shared, like "ripples on an eternal pond [that were] forever moving [and] forever repeating", (TV: Vengeance on Varos) with the Seventh Doctor adding that the memory TARDIS was "a special place where old friends [could] come together to share stories, to remember and to confront difficult truths." (TV: The Curse of Fenric) Tegan Jovanka hypothesised that the TARDIS was a chance for TARDIS travellers to sit down and think about the ramifications of their adventures, with the Fifth Doctor agreeing that it provided therapy. (TV: Earthshock) Zoe Heriot believed that the TARDIS was responsible for undoing the Time Lords' erasement of her and Jamie McCrimmon's memories. (TV: The Mind Robber)

How the TARDIS operated was a mystery, such as how the visitors managed to arrive; while Tegan and the Fifth Doctor implied that they appeared in the TARDIS after falling asleep, (TV: Earthshock) Ace remarked that she had been taken from a business meeting when she appeared in the TARDIS. (TV: The Curse of Fenric) When Peri Brown appeared before the Sixth Doctor, who had been relaxing with a book in the TARDIS, a distinct sound was heard, indicating she had been teleported in, (TV: Vengeance on Varos) with the same sound being heard when Clyde Langer left. (TV: The Three Doctors) While some remained to use the TARDIS as a standard ship, (TV: Vengeance on Varos, The Curse of Fenric) Zoe believed staying in the TARDIS to be a temporary affair, (TV: The Mind Robber) with Jo Jones implying that the occupants had a measure of control on when they could leave. (TV: The Three Doctors)

The incarnations of the Doctor that arrived in the TARDIS were also older looking, (TV: Earthshock, Vengeance on Varos, The Curse of Fenric) with the Seventh Doctor cryptically saying was due to the time streams being "all a matter of perspective." (TV: The Curse of Fenric)

Craving stories

Appearance

The exterior of the TARDIS resembled a police box, with the same colouring as that of the Thirteenth Doctor's TARDIS exterior.

The TARDIS interior features a cluttered collection of various other TARDIS control consoles, such as a segment of the console first used by the First Doctor, a segment of the console first used by the Fifth Doctor, the metal girders from the Eighth Doctor's console room, a segment of the War Doctor's console, some coral "roundels" from the console first used by the Ninth Doctor, a segment of the Twelfth Doctor's console, some hexagonal "roundels" from the Thirteenth Doctor's console room, the console first used by Third Doctor resting on the ceiling, and a segment of the Eleventh Doctor's first console (TV: Earthshock) with a drawer that housed the Eleventh Doctor's sonic screwdriver, the Second Doctor's sonic screwdriver, the Twelfth Doctor's second sonic screwdriver, the Third Doctor's sonic screwdriver, the Thirteenth Doctor's sonic screwdriver and the Seventh Doctor's sonic screwdriver. (TV: The Three Doctors) When stories were told, a miniature version of the Thirteenth Doctor's console rested on the floor between chairs, resembling a campfire, as the stories were played on a black and white 4:3 television. (TV: Earthshock)

Amongst the clutter in the TARDIS included a fez, a hobby horse, the helmet of Sanctuary Base 6 space suit, an "Out of Order" sign, Adric's badge, (TV: Earthshock) Amelia Pond's homemade "Raggedy Man" dolls, the Fourth Doctor's yo-yo, the Seventh Doctor's spoons, the 2Dis, a jukebox, a Weapons-grade Cyberman's head, Brendan's clock, a Clockwork Droid mask, the WHO 1 licence plate, the Second Doctor's recorder, (TV: The Mind Robber) a globe, (TV: Vengeance on Varos) a guitar, Sarah Jane Smith's stuffed owl plush, a Verron puzzle box, (TV: The Three Doctors) the First Doctor's pocket watch, a Viking helmet, the dimensional control of the Monk's TARDIS, (TV: The Time Meddler) a series of TARDIS keys, River Song's red heel shoes, The History of the Time War book, a Red Kang flag, the Moment, the Seventh Doctor's panama hat, Ace's Wanted poster from Terra Alpha, (TV: The Curse of Fenric) and a hatstand that housed Ace's baseball bat, the Sixth Doctor's coat, the Fifth Doctor's panama hat, (TV: Earthshock) Excalibur and a tennis racket. (TV: The Curse of Fenric)
