The Netherlands (sometimes known as Holland) was a nation in Europe.

Early history

20th century
On 7 June 1941, the German fleet was preparing to depart harbours all along the Dutch and Belgian coast when Koenig and Wyckham's plot to use Chronosteel to enable the German invasion of Britain was thwarted by Clyde Langer and George Woods in Little Malding. (TV: Lost in Time)

In the early 21st century, rising sea levels caused by global warming flooded the Netherlands, forcing the Dutch people to become refugees. Later in the century they founded a new homeland on an island in the Atlantic Ocean, which they named the New Dutch Republic. (PROSE: St Anthony's Fire)
