Miss "Andrea Quill" was the alias of Andra'ath, (TV: Nightvisiting) the last of the Quill. She was the servant of Charlie Smith and a physics teacher at Coal Hill Academy in 2016.

She was rescued by the Twelfth Doctor during a war with Shadow Kin, and taken to Coal Hill Academy in September 2016, posing as a human teacher from Sheffield with Charlie Smith.

Quill lived with Charlie and later Matteusz, at 1 Wellington Road, London, N1 0HR.

Biography

Early life

Andra'ath's mother died giving birth to her litter, and Andra'ath fed on her corpse for nourishment. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did) She had a sister named Orla'ath, with whom she often fought, even using threats of death against each other. (TV: Nightvisiting)

She was a freedom fighter on her houseworld, Rhodia. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die) Once, before the open revolt, she was put in a prison completely devoid of light. Even the food was delivered in a black box through a black hatch. (PROSE: The Stone House) She was called the "Warrior Queen", (PROSE: Joyride) and described by Charlie as "the Quill's leading terrorist", though she called herself a "freedom fighter". (TV: For Tonight We Might Die) She said she once led an army. (TV: Nightvisiting)

During the Rhodian-Quill war, Andra'ath and the rest of the Quill were approached by beings from a nameless, faceless organisation with an offer to help them in their fight. The Quill were unable to accept this offer as they asked for more money than would be possible for them to provide. (PROSEWhat She Does Next Will Astound You)

Andra'ath also lost her partner in the war and would forever blame the Rhodians for this loss. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did)

When the Rhodians defeated her species, Andra'ath was enslaved as a servant and protector of the Rhodian prince before the Shadow Kin arrived. She and the prince were rescued from there by the Twelfth Doctor, in the midst of the war. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die) Orla'ath was among the Quill killed by the Shadow Kin. (TV: Nightvisiting)

She was brought to Coal Hill Academy in early September 2016, together with the prince, where she posed as a teacher from Sheffield. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die, Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart) For their human personas, Andra'ath chose the name Andrea Quill, (PROSE: The Stone House) and the prince was named "Charlie Smith". (TV: For Tonight We Might Die) She and Charlie lived at 1 Wellington Road, (TV: Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart) in an apartment situated on the Central line of London Underground. (PROSE: Joyride)

Miss Quill brought with her a bracelet that held snapchats of her memories. It was made of a very light element of red colour. She also possessed an artron energy detector disguised as a pen, which enabled her to detect things and entities that had arrived through the Rift. She herself soldered two EMF readers. (PROSE: The Stone House)

Coal Hill Academy

Charlie and Miss Quill are dropped off at Coal Hill Academy. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die)

During one night in the school, she hid with a student named Kevin Williams from a Shadow Kin that materialised. Unable to use a weapon on the creature due to the terms of her enslavement to Charlie, she ordered Kevin to do it. The displacement gun killed both him and the Shadow Kin.

Miss Quill continued to live with Charlie, who confronted her about Kevin's supposed disappearance. When more Shadow Kin appeared, she next ordered April MacLean to shoot the Shadow Kin, but she was pushed out of the way at the last second by Charlie. She assisted in making prom decorations.

On the night of the Autumn Prom, she gave her gun to Charlie and witnessed the legion of Shadow Kin arrive at the school. She prepared to go down fighting before the Twelfth Doctor showed up, and, with the help of the others, dispelled the Shadow Kin. However, while she had hoped that the situation would prompt the Doctor to stay and deal with the rifts, he instead left her 'in charge' of the group, reasoning that she could still use her brain even if she was unable to use weapons, and noting that this role would be her redemption for her role in the death of Kevin Williams. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die)

A week later, a robot was sent to spy on Miss Quill, disguised as an inspector from Ofsted. Quill quickly began to suspect that he wasn't human due to his inability to speak and his fast reflexes. She was annoyed that Charlie and his friends were more focused on a series of murders committed by a skin-peeling dragon than the inspector, so she decided to take matters into her own hands, and investigate the inspector by herself.

Quill approached the inspector in the school at night and asked what he wanted. He wrote in his notepad that he wanted her, leading to her assuming he was interested in her sexually. She quickly pushed him against a wall and began kissing him. They were interrupted by the dragon and chased into a classroom. Not wanting to die, Quill pushed the inspector towards the dragon. Instead of being skinned, the inspector broke apart, revealing he was a robot.

Shortly afterwards, the dragon left Coal Hill through the space-time rip. Quill then gathered the pieces of the inspector and analysed them, learning it was created by the Governors. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo)

Miss Quill tried to forcefully get information from Viola Cummings, who at the time occupied the body of Amar Sai. She got away with the rough treatment of Amar as he did not remember anything.

When Steve Hopley, Barry Taylor and James Banks took control of the bodies of Matteusz, April and Tanya to bring her and Charlie to Garry Fletcher, Miss Quill knocked April's and Tanya's bodies cold and took Charlie to investigate this Fletcher guy. When the three "joyriders" caught up with them and Banks threatened to cut Matteusz's throat, Miss Quill temporarily conceded to Charlie's pleas to submit to the "joyriders"'s demands. After Ram sorted the situation out, she easily extracted from Steve the information about the clients of Joyriders company and how to operate the body-swapping machine. (PROSE: Joyride)

She locked Charlie in the men's bathroom to keep himself. She showed Matteusz a signal and used him as a body shield as well as brawn. At the location she saw some spectral beings. She was affected by whatever was in the house and became spectral herself. She warned April to get away with Charlie. She discovered that the Creeper deliberately sabotaged her shield to bring those creatures to earth. (AUDIO: The Creeper)

When the Lankin arrived through the crack in time, it took the form of her sister Orla'ath to try and persuade her to have some closure for her death. The Lankin offered Miss Quill her gun back, holding it out to her. She got Charlie to stab the creature. with a screwdriver, but it eventually dissipated. She then went with Charlie and Matteusz to Tanya Adeola's flat to try and stop the main root of the creature. After Matteusz found that severing the roots didn't work she found a double-decker bus and ran the main root over with it. (TV: Nightvisiting)

She found Tanya in her classroom and wanted to know why she was there. Quill thought that Tanya was hiding from her friends. (AUDIO: Catfish)

Following Tanya's request, Miss Quill went with the others to check what was going on with an old stone house. She used a skeleton key to break into some of the rooms. When April was knocked unconscious by the unseen female bone spider, Miss Quill carried April downstairs. The spider materialised Miss Quill's fear that someone who had loved her would never forgive her. During her investigations of the basement Miss Quill was cocooned in spiderwebs and had to be cut out by April and Ram. Immediately afterwards, Constantine Oliver, the owner of the house, arrived with the police. DC Carpenter arrested and handcuffed Miss Quill, charging her for the possession of knives. As the result of efforts by Felicity, a lawyer hired by Miss Quill, the charge that stuck was trespass. Despite the probably legal consequences, Miss Quill returned to the house to rescue Tanya, who went missing, as soon as she was released. She invented a way of entangling the female bone spider in her own web. Upon learning the truth, Miss Quill used the spider to scare Oliver into relinquishing all rights to the house and returning the money. (PROSE: The Stone House)

Charlie told her that Matteusz couldn't stop talking, and she came to help given that she was sworn to protect him. She found it funny when Charlie fell under the same condition. She realised that it was making them tell the truth. Quill asked Matteusz about how the situation started. She theorised it was an alien being that came through one of the cracks. Upon realising that the symptoms transferred upon saying the words "I Love You". Quill realised that both Matteusz and Charlie knew something about the creature was getting them to say stuff they couldn't possibly know. She worked out that it was a parasite, and it was clearing information from her brain so it take over her permanently. After using Matteusz as bait, she took it back from Charlie and started to converse with the parasite, the Emphani. She tried to get it to inhabit the Arn, but it refused. She went away from them, which Charlie thought was part of the Emphani's plan. She then had an idea to get rid of it and called a random stranger who she tricked into saying “I love you” and then hung up. (AUDIO: Tell Me You Love Me)

She had placed her own alarms around the school, separate to the schools system. She met Ace in the Gym shortly before a Dalek arrived. When Quill realised Ace knew the Doctor, she told Ace how unreliable he is. She didn't like the fact that Ace mentioned war stories. After Ace tried to blow up the Dalek, she kicked the Dalek. She told the Dalek that she wouldn't allow it to dictate her life. She helped the Dalek to repair itself. She told the Dalek that it wouldn't survive without it's casing. She told Ace on how she was the hope of the Quill race before they all died, and how she didn't like her existence now on Earth. She told Ace that she had to do anything she could to get Charlie back. After the Dalek opened up the tear, she saved Charlie from being exterminated. (AUDIO: In Remembrance)

She met the Man who hung outside of the school. She later thought he kidnapped her, but decided to stay in the space he took her to for a while. He later took her to a war zone by accident. She thought she was becoming accustomed to the Earth and relished her trips. The more she travelled with him the more she mellowed. She later discovered that Charlie had found a source of psycho-spatial energy which he used to create the Man to make her happy. She manipulated it herself to show Matteusz strangling him, to serve him a lesson. (AUDIO: Sweet Nothings)

When the new headteacher, Dorothea Ames, arrived at school, Quill was intrigued as she came from the Governors. Ames showed her the killer petals that were multiplying around the school and asked for her help in return for removing the arn in Quill's brain. (TV: Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart)

She took Ames back to her house in order to force Charlie to use the Cabinet of Souls to kill the killer petals, but instead Quill wanted him to use it to kill the Shadow Kin. After April got the Shadow Kin to kill the petals, Quill became upset that Charlie then didn't kill the Shadow Kin. Later, back at Coal Hill, she took her anger out on what she thought was Ames' car. Ames then told her that the Governors had predicted April's actions and the offer to remove the arn still stood. (TV: Brave-ish Heart)

She had to preside over a physics mock which she hated. Dave Braithwaite invited her to the pub. She could hear someone whispering but no-one else could, they recited a story her sister told her. She later told Charlie about this taking him out of the mock. Charlie told her that the creature took a fancy to her as she was the strongest one their. Eventually calling The Cleaver name he discussed with her a way to get her freedom. She realised the Cleaver's world was a terrible approximation of her world. She realised that on Earth her and Charlie were stronger together. (AUDIO: Mock)

She put Charlie, Matteusz, Ram, April and Tanya in detention to keep them out of the way whilst she had her arn removed. (TV: Detained) Ames took her to the school hall, where she brought Ballon to join them in their journey. They entered the metaphysical engine in order to collect supplies for her surgery.

The three together collected an arn pheromone in Arn Heaven to calm the arn inside Quill's head, and blood from the God of the Lorr in Lorr ap Thriss to unfreeze Ballon's hands' shapeshifting abilities to enable him to perform Quill's surgery. Quill didn't initially believe that they could remove the arn, but by their third destination, the first Quill nest, she started to believe that they really could do it, causing the arn to begin to fight back. She confronted the Quill Goddess who she didn't believe in but almost started to believe until Ballon killed it in order to take her Quill brain. He knew that everything would change for Quill is she had to recognise her Goddess when her identity had already been formed.

Their final destination was the Cabinet of Souls, where Ballon performed the surgery. Ballon managed to dislodge the arn and almost remove it but it reacted and made Quill jump, causing Ballon to rip out the arn losing her eye in the process. He used the last of his god's blood sample to manipulate her body to create a new eye and heal the skin. She was left with a scar following this.

After beating the arn for all it had done to her, she had sex with Ballon in celebration. Afterwards, she noticed sand on the floor of the hall and left onto the open terrain. Ames returned to tell her that only one person was able to escape the Cabinet with the metaphysical engine. She also left them Miss Quill's displacement gun.

Ballon and Quill fought. Ballon got the gun and tried to use it against her, but it backfired and killed him. Quill buried him in the sand. The souls of the Rhodians visited her at this point and she screamed at them. Holding onto one of them, she felt pain and suddenly found her hair had grown out, as time worked functioned in the Cabinet.

Rhodian souls showed her the door to the Cabinet and she left, crawling out of the Cabinet of Souls in Charlie's bedroom. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did) She went back to Coal Hill to confront Charlie and give him her arn, saving him from an alien rock that threatened him, in what she described as her final favour. (TV: Detained) Soon after, she collapsed and Matteusz and Charlie noticed that she was heavily pregnant. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did)

As part of her recovery from the Metaphysical Engine, she dreamed being a member of the Rhodian guard with Tanya Adeola as queen and Charles Smith as the enemy. She thought something was wrong as she was head of the Rhodian guard who had switched sides. Seeing what was happening on this world, she wasn't sure what was happening on this planet. She was the next in line to the throne in this universe. She realised that everything was concentrated on her so it was a parallel universe. Blood told her that she was fighting an infection. She killed Tanya who was a physical representation of the infection. (AUDIO: Queen of Rhodia)

She left for six days as part of the hibernation stage of the Quill pregnancy cycle. She woke up just after the Shadow Kin had returned to Earth; her first act was to scream in horror at the sight of her pregnant stomach. Immediately, she asked where Charlie had put her gun, but she didn't get an answer. When Tanya turned up after her mother was killed, she was persuaded to go to the school with the Cabinet of Souls in order for Charlie to use it on the Shadow Kin. Arriving at the school she accompanied Tanya to the library in order to see whether or not Corakinus had killed her brothers. When Corakinus arrived, she fought him and made him retreat. After this Tanya asked her to teach her how to fight, which she obliged to. When the Shadow Kin started to invade the world, she was trapped in a room with many of them. After Charlie became king and started the arming of the Cabinet of Souls, she with Tanya started to fight the Shadow Kin. She stopped Charlie from being killed by the Cabinet along with the Shadow Kin. (TV: The Lost)

(TV: For Tonight We Might Die) Very analytical, she displayed annoyance when people did not spot what she did, or when she had to explain what it meant. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo) Miss Quill felt a need to get back into action, and despite not being allowed to use it, eventually took a gun for herself. (TV: Nightvisiting) Despite this, she expressed worry about forming the Coal Hill defenders to the Twelfth Doctor, stating that despite her disgust for them, they were only children. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die)
