Nation claimed to David Whitaker that he had found the first of the story-cubes making up the Dalek Chronicles in his garden. Drilling a hole into the mysterious glass cube, he realised that it contained microfilms describing future events on the distant planet Skaro. At any rate, with Whitaker's help, he began translating the Chronicle fragments he had found, and looking for other lost story-cubes. Whitaker and Nation worked together on turning one record into a stage play.
